Now in its second year, the HSJ Genomics Forum brings together senior NHS genomics leaders, system partners, clinicians and innovators to explore how genomics can deliver better population health, earlier diagnosis and more personalised care. It is where the sector comes together to tackle the practical challenges of embedding genomics across NHS pathways and turning genomic insight into better outcomes for patients.
The 2027 Forum comes as the NHS looks beyond genomics as a predominantly specialist service towards its wider potential across population health, prevention, diagnosis and treatment. As genomic testing expands into new pathways and settings, the challenge is increasingly one of delivery: identifying who should be tested, bringing testing closer to patients, ensuring results inform clinical decisions, and building the capacity, infrastructure and commissioning models needed to operate at scale.

The Genomics Forum will be a part of our wider HealthSHIFT event – there will be opportunity to attend some sessions in other forums.
To ensure the best possible experience for all attendees, please note the following requirements:
• Morning attendance is essential – delegates are expected to attend the morning sessions of the Forum they have registered for. Freer movement between sessions will be available after lunch, subject to capacity.
• Participation in IDGs – delegates commit to attending the Integrated Discussion Groups (IDGs) linked to their chosen Forum.
• One Collaborative Insight Conversation commitment – delegates agree to attend at least one 10 minutes insight meeting with an event partner as part of their Forum.
• Priority access – if a room is nearing capacity, priority will be given to delegates registered for that Forum. Switching rooms is possible, but only if space allows.
• Genomics and population health – moving genomics beyond specialist services into prevention, earlier diagnosis and routine care
• Prediction and prevention – identifying risk earlier, from inherited conditions and family testing to polygenic risk scores
• Genomics in cancer – exploring population-level approaches to inherited risk, earlier identification and more personalised cancer care
• Pharmacogenomics at scale – exploring responsive and pre-emptive approaches and how genomic information can support prescribing decisions
• Primary and neighbourhood care – defining the role of GPs, community pharmacy, PCNs and neighbourhood teams in bringing genomics closer to patients
• From pilot to population – addressing the commissioning, workforce and delivery challenges involved in embedding genomics into routine care
